Time to change some things up...

Postby purelebo84 on Mon Oct 06, 2008 5:50 pm

Satan and Fedotenko, together, don't bode well for Crosby. He could become more or less wasted if those two are his long term wingers, just judging by the weekend.

TK has shown flashes before, and this week proved, that he can more than keep up with Malkin and Staal.

Sid needs a better sniper than Satan, so why not Sykora? One of them can convert to the left wings from right. Shouldn't be that hard.

Satan-Crosby-Sykora
Staal-Malkin-Kennedy
Dupuis-Talbot-Cooke

Whaddya say?

Fedotenko is going to play on one of the top 3 lines.

And to break up Staal-Malkin-Sykora would be stupid.

I agree. Of course though, Malkin has 1 less point with his line than Crosby does with Satan and Fedotenko, so we should probably move Staal and Kennedy both off that line.

Um. No. It is not time to change things up. It's been 2 (euro) games. Give the team some time to gain some footing.

Sorry, my mistake. I just forgot to list him.

Try this-

Satan-Crosby-Sykora
Staal-Malkin-Kennedy
Fedotenko-Talbot-Dupuis
Cooke-Taffe-Godard

I like these lines personally,

Satan-Crosby-Fedotenko
Staal-Malkin-Sykora
Cooke-Talbot-Dupuis
Bis-Kennedy-Godard

The first two games tell us nothing. They were in friggin' Sweden. Wait until we play on North American ice before Fedotenko isn't good.

The first line has a playmaker, sniper, and a "scoring" grinder. Perfect.

The second line has amazing chemistry together. (Staal/Malkin '06-07 and Malkin/Sykora '07-08)

The third line is our quickest line and can cycle on the boards like no other. Decent toughness with Cooke's 8 hits per game.

The fourth line has a TON of toughness and grit. Bis and Godard will fight anyone. Kennedy makes up for the speed and scoring touch.

Why in the world would you not put Sykora on Malkin's line?

The part I bolded is exactly what we SHOULDN'T do at this point. Plus breaking up Malkin/Sykora would do way more harm than good.

So, you put two snipers on the same line with Sid? And leave Malkin with no sniper at all? Makes zero sense. Please give some time to the new guys to gain some chemistry. It's a process and takes time. We, as fans, just have to be patient.

Time to change things up? What, shake the yahtzee dice already? I don't think anyone could possibly say how these lines are working out yet. Cripes teams are still playing preseason games.

MT should be fired if he doesnt have Malkin and Sykora together. its only 2 games so at most i would switch Fedko and Staal

as for the 4th line -Goddard should not play unless we are playing a physical team- 2 games and 2 dumb penalties, we had that last year with Ruutu, the best penatly killing is not taking a penalty

Playing a team with Chris Neil on it is a bad time to have Godard playing?

pens#1,

Godard's penalties were questionable at best. Shouldn't have been called.

Is this the first fire MT post of the year? Just wondering if I missed it.

If you aren't counting preseason fire MT posts then it might be.

not saying that, i see the reason for him in against the Senators, against the Devils he should not be out there IMO, Tuesday against the Flyers -YES YES YES

in regards to the penalties- i agree they were questionable but he cant take them either way - not when you only get 7-8 minutes of icetime

I guess I may have jumped the gun a bit.

After all, it's only 2 games, and in Europe.

I just really hated what I saw from Fedex and Satan in those games.

Satan was not good over there - he need to get dirty in the corners and on the boards- i hate to say it but that is where Hossa earned his $$$, Crosby will be frustrated if Satan keeps that up. Hopefully he will adjust and bury a couple goals on Saturday night!!!

So is it too early to start panicking, or should I have started by now?

You should have started yesterday around 5:00pm.

Pshaw. I never stop panicking - I figure, even if there isn't something at the moment to panic about, there will be eventually. I was panicking over Gonchar's injury/surgery three months before it even happened. 8-)

I'm worried what the Pens are going to do when Sid retires.

I'm also worried what is going to happen when the new lease to the new arena is over.
