the notion that kennedy is a top 2 winger is laughable. he lucked in 2 goals in the first game that should have never in a million years went in. splitting up malkin and sykora is the dumbest suggestion i've seen, they are the only proven combination still on the roster to split them up this early is a big mistake. no chance MT does that anyways.

here is what will happen if you've paid attention to MT over the past 3 years you'd know this - EVERY LINE COMBINATION WILL CONTINUE TO OCCUR WITH CROSBY. until one proves to work over time. when the pens win the lines will stay the same. he likes to keep pairs together, malkin and sykora are a pair. crosby has no proven line or pair, all combinations will be tried until one hopefully sticks by the playoffs. when the pens show no offense and/or need a spark malkin/crosby will be played together. this has proven to be par for the course and won't change anytime soon. crosby's ideal lineup plays for detroit now.

agreed with all the people who pointed out that it's been 2 games not in the country that felt like preseason. Keep the lines how they started and rotate Kennedy into the 3rd line throughout the game.

as for the 4th line -Goddard should not play unless we are playing a physical team- 2 games and 2 dumb penalties, we had that last year with Ruutu, the best penatly killing is not taking a penalty

Playing a team with Chris Neil on it is a bad time to have Godard playing?

not saying that, i see the reason for him in against the Senators, against the Devils he should not be out there IMO, Tuesday against the Flyers -YES YES YES

in regards to the penalties- i agree they were questionable but he cant take them either way - not when you only get 7-8 minutes of icetime

Godard's job is to retaliate and fight. Penalties are going to go hand in hand with anyone in that line of work. I'm not going to fault Godard for either of the calls, he was doing what he was supposed to and the calls were questionable at best. Godard's calls were memorable only because we couldn't put anything in the net. If the Pens got 3 on the PP in game 2, nobody would care about a couple BS calls.

Actually, when I was younger, I'd rock back and forth, but the chair slowly inched forward. IN about a half an hour, I was in front of the TV, and my dad would tell me to move the chair back.

Once Sykora returns that the forward lines and power-play will be more productive. It was evident that the Pens were missing a trigger man on the top unit. Fedo needs to be in the top 9. I can see Kennedy bumping Dupuis to a 4th line role with Godard/Bissonette and Thomas/Taffe

Fedo-Crosby-Satan
Staal-Malkin-Sykora
TK-Talbot-Cooke
Godard-Thomas-Dupuis

I think Kennedy needs to rotate onto the 4th line to get some face off work if they plan to use him in that capacity.

The only changes I would expect to see is Kennedy and Cooke swapping on the 3rd line and Dupuis and Fedotenko swapping on the 1st line and having this:

Dupuis-Crosby-Satan
Staal-Malkin-Sykora
Fedo-Talbot-Kennedy
Cooke-Taffe-Godard

Nothing major

What i love to laugh at is when people say Crosby needs a winger and decide to break up Malkin and Sykora, leaving Malkin with kennedy, or Satan or whom ever. We have line 1a and 1b. Why break up a line that works and scores JUST so that Crosby can have a winger? As long as Malkin's line is working and scoring LEAVE IT ALONE! IF Fed and Satan dont work out (after 10 or 15 games) then you try shifting someone around, maybe kennedy, dupuis, cooke whom ever, just not Staal or Sykora. Dont punish Geno cause Sid doesnt have a winger to play with.
