Nathan Moon...

Postby Jesse on Tue Oct 07, 2008 11:14 am

Thanks to some e-friends in Kingston, I was able to watch two of Kingston's games and highlight reels of the others last night.

First off, Kingston is terrible. Downright horrific. Remember the Ed Olzyck era here? It's worse up there.

GM/Coach Larry Mavety is getting lambasted by the fans. The team has no cohesion whatsoever. It looks like they're a pee-wee team just skating around aimlessly. They guys try hard, but there's no cohesion or systematic play.

The only line that's created any semblance of chances is Moon's line, and it's the only line that fans don't want to tinker with. Kingston fans are slightly jaded with Moon. They love him because he's one of their sole all-star performers (maybe the only one?), but they expect more out of him as a leader and a defensive presence at center.

Regardless, Moon seems to be firing the puck more between the circles this year. He scored on a lazer of a slapshot that was in and out of the net so fast the Ref didn't even signal goal.

He's mixing it up a bit more, but not really fighting. He had a scrap on the ice during the Oshawa game, but it wasn't a fight as much as it was a heavy scrum.

Overall, I'd prefer that Moon get traded. If I were Tom Fitzgerald, I'd be doing everything in my power to get Moon the hell out of Kingston and over to Belleville. Kingston has 1 point in 5 games. The other night, they played Guelph, and despite Guelph playing the trap, they were still outshot 43-16.

I'll be liveblogging his game tomorrow night on the factor. They play the Ottawa 67's. I'll post the link here tomorrow night.

If anyone has any questions, I'll answer them best I can.

thanx and keep the updates coming! Hopefully he will get traded bc it really seems like he's in an awful situation that will hurt his development.

First class work as always, Jesse...

Maybe an extra look can be paid to Josh Brittain (Kingston), Logan Couture (Ottawa), Tyler Cuma (Ottawa) as well? A few intriguing prospects there...

Mikey, we'll be watching those in addition to 2009 prospects Ethan Werek (Kingston) and Michael Latta (Ottawa).

Moon just scored on a great deflection from the point. Kingston is upsetting Ottawa 3-0 halfway through the game.
