Postby sdm5055 on Fri Oct 10, 2008 7:30 am

What time can you park in the lot at the arena for a game?

specifically saturday's game?

It has been awhile since I have actually parked at the arena

Thanks

I would think 5pm ~ 530 for sure.

You might want to search ALCO parking in Pgh.

well, during the week that may be true, but the pens are having a "festival" outside of the arena that starts at 4pm for the home opener. I would think that the parking lot will open well before that.

Due to bandwagon bandwidth, we're no longer allowed to park downtown.

I became a big parker of downtown this past season. Living in Castle Shannon makes for a quick escape either up to the Liberty Bridge via Smithfield Street bridge or I get on to Fort Duq bypass by convetion center and just head across Ft Pitt. There is the garage b/t Liberty and Smithfield that was 5 bucks before games and not a bad walk. Street parking is hit and miss.. if you are willingly to walk more there is more spots deeper into town..

Also, Admin, what is the source of that train picture.. ??

i always park in the hill district somewhere. you can always find a spot on forbes or fifth avenue or one of the intersecting streets. free with a short walk beats paying!

In all seriousness, I usually get there early and park at Chatham Center. Get a good space up front, then go somewhere to have a beer. Remember the T is free when using within the city. My normal routine is park around 5:00, take the T to the 1902 Tavern in Market Square, drink for a bit, head back up to the arena, enter the gates, buy more beer. That's just me of course, obviously I'm made of oodles and oodles of dollars and live in a posh area of Cranberry. Well...the North Hills is technichally the ghetto of Cranberry. Guess I should update my location. That would be ossim. 3:54, 1:06 left to go before the weekend officially begins...3:55...maybe if I waste time typing more it'll go faster.........nope not working. Just like me. Not working.
