Umm.. Sid? Ya there??

Postby jjj5032 on Thu Oct 16, 2008 10:12 pm

Well that was ugly and disappointing.. Stack up the first line Crosby and Malkin need a spark.

Ummm he had 2 points. Malkin had 3. If this is a win we'd all be saying they had a great game.

Malkin was a minus 1. Trade them both while we can still get something for them.

I think they'll finish 2-79-1.

Crosby will have 5 total assists and will be -47. Malkin will defect BACK to Russia.

Overreact much?

Dang it. I'd better change up my fantasy team.

Perhaps there was a bit too much hyperbole in my post. However, the premise of the OP was to say that this team needs more from Sid and Geno in all 3 zones. Neither of our superstars have been a game-changer yet. Neither have done ANYTHING at even strength in 5 games. We all know that things will improve, but this team has had no fire or intensity at all this year and everyone needs to be called out on it, even Sid and Geno. Both have been remarkably pedestrian and we cannot afford that.

Good post. I agree. I was just as upset as many with the outcome today and was yelling for 87 to do something. The Pens obviously can only go as far as Crosby and Malkin take them, and we can't rely solely on PP goals for 82 games. I don't know if playing Malkin alongside Crosby will solve anything. MT tried that for awhile last year and Sykora was mired on the third line.

The lack of intensity is what worries me most, and they certainly didn't have the legs that the Caps had in the third. This team has been notoriously slow starting for the past two years. Here's to hoping Crosby lights the lamp against the Leafs on Saturday to get off the schneid.

Terrible turnover by sid on the 4th goal. He needs to stop pulling up and take it down the boards.

I was just going to mention this. He (and Malkin) have been very careless with the puck so far this season.

It's not just Staal...it's been numerous people.

Sid, Malkin, Staal, Satan, Fedotenko and many others aren't playing up to par. The forwards are trying to be too fancy with the puck. You know we are having problems when Kennedy has probably been our best forward after 5 games and Goligoski has probably been our best defenseman.

It just kills me that these guys aren't hustling like they were last year. When I was at the game on Saturday, I could have swore I was watching a pre-season game.
