Now let's trade Fleury for Crosby's winger.

Why wasn't Malkin out there for the last minute of OT? Any sane reason? I can't think of any. There probably wouldn't have been a shootout if it was Malkin instead of Dupuis with the broken stick out there.

Kessel is a pretty dangerous offensive weapon out there...He could develop into a big time goal scorer....Oh, who was drafted 3 slots in front of him? Mr. Jordan?

Kessel would be the same problem they have with Staal. He needs to be a Center to be useful and would be stuck behind Crosby and Malkin 90% of the time. He sucks when he gets moved to wing.

Wasn't he playing with Savard today? I thought I saw them together...If Kessel had a Crosby feeding him, I think his problems would become a lot less out there...

He looked great tonight. I would have been happy with him if he just fought when asked to this year but he's a lot more of a real player than I thought. Given I knew next to nothing about him coming in.

Marc Savard is a very formidable playmaker. He's one of the game's best. Idoit said it the best, he would have the same problem here that he has in Boston.

Didn't the goal come on the powerplay? He generally will be playing with Bergeron which allows him to play more as a playmaker with him and Bergeron sharing the carrying of the puck. But yeah its the same problem there because he's better than a 3rd liner, but stuck behind 2 great centers. He did take a few shifts with Savard though.

That was a very satisfying win. Fast-paced, physical, lots of shots and great saves; oh, and EXCELLENT passing. One of the more exciting low scoring games we've seen in awhile. Doesn't hurt that the Pens got the W.

Congratulations to D Sabourin, that was a pretty clutch performance. Home opener for the bruins, 1st game at home for P Bergeron...bruins looking to pick up the sox fans. Sabourin through the pre-season looked calm and steady.

Thanks to Evgeni for helping the pens to get the 2nd point.

Lastly, I don't know how Sidney can play with being sick~ I was in bed Sunday, left work early monday, taking pills and just being a slug at home...don't know how you play hockey with same ailment.

B's should have won this game. 4 or 5 chances that really should have gone in. Thought they owned the neutral and were pressuring at will. Pens had no coordination through neutral. Spots of good heat, but didn't challenge Thomas nearly as much as they should have. Staal was ick.

Still, they did this all last year. One mark of a winning club.

Does anyone know why the fans were booing Gill last night?

It might not have been noticeable on the tv side but it was really clear on the radio. I just thought it was really odd.

I don't know why, other than he played for them for 8 seasons and left via free agency for Toronto. Hal is from the Boston area, too.
