Interview w/ Pens Prospect Joe Vitale

Postby Jesse on Thu Oct 23, 2008 10:23 am

Meet your future Max Talbot. Vitale is a hard-nosed grinder that puts a premium on defense.

We talked about his big year last year in which he won the New England's Most Improved Player award, and team MVP.

He also told me about his experiences before college, his future with the team, and the funny connection to the Penguins that got him drafted on draft day.

Any questions or comments are always appreciated.

Thanks as always. I've considered him an interesting prospect since they drafted him. He's also a RH I believe. Has he been a good faceoff guy?

Geezer,

He said he's coming along just fine. His freshman year he got a lot of help and he's learning everyday.

Jesse,

How good is Joe at face-offs? He may not have to move to wing. He could follow the Talbot road...a year or two in WBS followed by 4th line job. You never know with the salary cap....

He's good enough to take defensive zone draws. I actually forsee him staying at center. It gives him more freedom to be an energy guy and finish his checks.

I thought I told you to stop posting these interviews.

No one here is interested in the penguins organization/prospects.

Consider this my thank you. Good stuff as always.
