Yea it's on the pen's site as well. They are saying Cooke will be back. So I'd assume that's why.

Moves like this one, and the Taffe demotion, really do make me question the organization's commitment to winning.

I hope you're kidding. Thomas was always a spare part. If another top-12 guy gets hurt, than any of Taffe, Minard, or Pesonen can come up to fill the spot. Taffe and Minard have to clear waivers, but the 'emergency recall' can make it happen. If Thomas isn't playing in Pittsburgh, get him some playing time in the AHL.

Seriously??? Really??

He's a bit player, playing a bit part. I hardly think the team will tank now.

I'm having deja vu. Did you or someone else type that same exact thing when Taffe was waived?

EDIT: It was Member a couple weeks ago.

I am offering Sarcasm Comprehension 101 in my apartment living room. It is $1,000 per student and we will be meeting weekly, Saturday morning at 4:30 AM. If you manage to be absent from all classes, an automatic letter grade of (A) will be assigned to you. This is a 15 week course beginning in 6 hours and 35 minutes, we will be going over the syllabus and demonstrating this thread as the reason why my class is useful.

I had to edit before I got offered a math lesson :D

I figured this would happen once all the forwards were healthy. Thomas has no role on the team, he was just an extra body. They can continue to plug Bissonnette in there and make a call-up if there are any injuries beyond that. Their depth is nice because if a top six guy goes down, they can just move Fedotenko or Kennedy up a line and fill in with Bissonnette, otherwise Bis just takes a spot if a bottom six guy goes down.

Oh, that was it, lol.

I knew I had heard it somewhere, and it was in the back of my head.

The opportunity came, and boom! I said it.

The reason why I thought Pesonen might be coming up is because of the long road trip. I didn't the Pens would go with 22 guys on a four-game road trip with three of those games in Western cities. Who knows, maybe they'll call one up before they depart for San Jose.

I think the only reason Thomas was still around after the trip to Sweden was because of Sykora's injury. By the time he got healthy, Cooke was hurt. Everyone's healthy now so Thomas goes down. They still have an extra forward and defense man so if two forwards went down on the trip, worst case they could just dress seven D.

Well this is the first time in what? 4-5 years the Pens roster didn't have a Pittsburgh native on the team. RJ Umberger available? Nope. Maybe they can convince him to jump ship to a winner which must have also been his favourite team growing up.
