Malkin at Wing...

Postby Malkin0017 on Sat Oct 25, 2008 2:02 pm

Lets say the Pens go out and get a winger for Sid. Would you make Malkin a 2nd line winger and keep Staal at center?? Because it seems to me Staal plays better at the center position. What do you guys think???

Maybe have Staal take the faceoffs, but Malkin is still the better center.

That Brown-Kopitar-Gaborik line is going to be fantastic.

I cant recall? But has MT ever played Sykora alongside of sid and geno?
I cant see how that combo wouldn't be ridiculous....

Dont they both play on the RW?

Not that it would matter but I would assume Malkin would make the better left wing...then he is 2 spots removed from where he wants to play.

Yes, let's take a 8.7 mill player a year and play him out of position because we want to please someone who has no vision and stone hands.

The only way Malkin will play wing is if he's with Sid.

This was one of my suggestions when i first heard about them sid/geno together, but someone brought up a good point, the reason to have someone like a dupuis on that line is because he is more of a muck and grinder which a line like that needs, but i would still wanna see sykora there since he has definitely been attempting to muck and grind a little more since he's been back.

Because of Geno, that line doesn't need a muck and grinder anymore. You've got arguably the 2 best playmakers in the game playing together. It's imperative that you have someone on that line that can finish.

Sid + Not-geno + Dupuis = ok

Sid + Geno + Dupuis = not ok.

But see for me, i feel that sid and geno are/can be finishers...WHEN THEY SHOOT!!! it seems that they have a high amount of puck go into the net, but they just don't shoot enough. (more sid than geno)
