I wouldn't bash MAF,he stopped 42 of 44 shots.Also The Rangers outshot the Pens 18-2 in the 3rd.Face it t,the team didn't play 60 minutes and we lost.There's still the next game,relax.

A goal is rarely 100% on one player. On Zherdev's goal, the forwards get a good share of the blame for getting to caught up in trying to get the EN goal and not getting back. That goal came on a 3 on 2 rush. I know the Rangers had the goalie pulled, but giving up a 3 on 2 in that situation is unacceptable. Malkin was the the closest forward to being back, but he was just kind of coasting through the middle, looking around. Where were the other two forwards?

Zherdev made a heck of a shot. Some nights Fleury will get that one, some times not. Tonight was the not. I have a tough time putting that on him when he's pretty much the main reason the Pens got a point tonight.

It's weird. In some respects, the Pens had no business getting that point. In others, they should have had 2 and not given the Rangers any.

I thought Fleury played great tonight. Just has to stop that with 8 seconds left.

Just like the Jersey game... No matter how you get there, if you've got the lead with around a minute or so left, you should win the game, and anything else should be considered lost points.

I don't think that the game was really as lopsided as the shot count showed. The Pens had 6 straight penalty kills, the last 2 of which were weak calls. The trip on Scuderi was phantom and Fleury may or maybe not touched that puck in the no play zone. In fact, I was impressed on the "road game" the Pens were playing so effectively. However, there was a massive brain cramp by the 8.7 million doller men. Both Crosby and Malkin were abandoning their defensive responsibilities on that Zherdev goal. That game should have been won, period. A good, hard fought road win. OOOPS.

Tell that to Detroit in game 5 of the SCF...

I'm not really worried about the team. They will come together and be a beast soon -- remember the awful record last fall. As long as they're picking up points right now, I won't complain.

It is frustrating to see that swing from 2 points back to now 5 points....

Call me crazy but I think that I'd be more nervous about that win as a Rangers fan than I am disappointed about that loss as a Pens fan. Yes, the Pens tried to play D in the third on the road and lost it in a shoot out but I'm not impressed by that Rangers team. Our young team is only going to get smarter and more successful but they better hope that King Henry saves their bacon for rest of the way because I don't see anyone else for that team to ride.

Don't get me wrong, I'm VERY disappointed but I impressed with our young defense and Fleury has shown thus far that he's better than that last goal. I think that Gogo and Letang looked great and our young leaders are learning on the job in October.

Perhaps another growth burst to the team moving forward?

I agree some what, as a goalie you can't get beaten short-side, just stay up and the pucks goes off your shoulder. It also was a great shot, and Eaton didn't help much.

Agreed, just frustrating that out of the four losses so far, three are due to third period lost leads....

Oh I agree with you - absolutely! But, at the same time, 12 points out of 18 isn't bad. I'm just trying to be optimistic at this point. If I continue to see the same trend, I'll be upset...

You're crazy. You can't be positive after an OT Shootout loss. That's just crazy.

But he's the best player in the world because he throws hits. Not knocking you at all, just some on here that said he was the greatest after the Penguin game. He is having a slow start to the season though - he has what, 4 points? He'll pick it up no doubt - but a slow start nonetheless.
