Selling Out all 82

Postby Why Not Us on Sun Oct 26, 2008 5:22 pm

So far the Pens are 9-for-9 in selling out their games. Do you think they're a big enough draw around the league now that they can sell out every game they play?

The only concern with the idea is 3 games in Newark, 3 games in Long Island, 2 each in Florida, Atlanta, and Carolina.

The games against Western Conference teams on the road are a given, maybe not Phoenix so much. The other guarantees are the 3 each in Philadelphia and NYC.

It'd be a cool thing to see, in my opinion.

it would be awesome.

but its impossible, as long as we are in the same division as New Jersey.

The Devils wouldn't sell out even if Jesus was coming to town

The irony (implied or not) in this statement is unreal.

Too many teams don't draw enough anyway, but I'm not going to name names.

If you go to New Jersey to watch a game, watch your wallet or anything else.

I bought tickets to Pens at Devils the day after Christmas in one of the last 10 rows of the arena.

My plan is to move up to the first row, because there WILL be room there.

Columbus did not come close to selling out for the high-profile NY Rangers on a Friday night. The Pens are in there on a weeknight.

Have you seen Atlanta games this year. It looks like High School teams playing in the Wheeling Civic Center. It's so empty

They won't sell out the Devils or Islanders. Those fans see the Penguins enough, so the draw isn't there anymore like it is to the west coast teams.

Lightning has a huge arena too and they blow, which makes it tough.

Actually the Lightning have always done well at selling tickets, even when the Bolts fans called them the Tampa Bay Frightning and Dolts.
