Mike Yeo

Postby meecrofilm on Mon Oct 27, 2008 4:25 pm

His wife is in my public speaking class! I didn't even figure this out until today, :o I'm going to CCAC (just for this semester), and today people were giving their "persuasive speeches." And hers was how fighting should stay in the league. It was kind of funny--she started out her presentation with the "Great Day For Hockey" promotional commercial, then gave her speech, then showed us one of the videos they show the team before games to get them psyched up, which was cool, 'cause I've never seen one before.

For anyone who's curious, it was like a highlight compilation of Pens stuff, except it seemed to place a lot of emphasis on hitting, and most of the goals it showed being scored were the proverbial "garbage" goals, as well as goals off of shots from the point, via deflection, etc. (Hmm, I wonder if they're trying to get a specific point across? ) It also showed clips from a couple fights, including Kennedy's one with Upshall in the playoffs. It ended with the words "Be a WINNER" on the screen.
She said she had this video because she knew someone on the team and that's how she was able to get it. Then everyone put the pieces together ^^

I asked her what she thought of the instigator rule. She thought it should be removed (her husband agrees =p). I had a quick chat with her after class, and told her to tell Mike he's doing a good job with the powerplay

Anyways, just a little anecdote I thought I'd share with everyone.

I actually do run past their house when I run, but I don't time myself, so I have no idea how far a run it is, and besides, every distance around here is measured by how long it takes to drive.

Hahah, someone next to me actually jokingly told me there were going to ask her what's up with his eyebrows (or lack thereof). They, uh. They didn't though.

Even smaller when you consider that most of the players come out of the 16 million males of Canada.

Its actually pretty obvious to me, same over saturation here as we get with Crosby everywhere else.
