Cooke-Malkin-Sykora
Satan-Staal-Kennedy
Biz-Ziggy-Godard

"Crosby had been playing with Malkin and Pascal Dupuis. Ruslan Fedotenko replaced Malkin, with Dupuis remaining -- although Dupuis was hit by a shot and left practice early. There was no immediate word on his status.

Malkin, who leads the team with 15 points, is back at center, between left winger Matt Cooke and right winger Petr Sykora.

Jordan Staal, who had been centering the second line, remained in the middle but moved to the third line between Miroslav Satan and Tyler Kennedy.

The fourth line has Mike Zigomanis with wingers Paul Bissonnette and Eric Godard".

Staal as a 3rd line center....nothing really has changed MT will blow these lines up after 4 minutes anyway

I like the Malkin Line, and Staal being the 3rd line center. What is MT obsession with Dupuis? (hmmm Ouellet, Nasreddine, Sabourin, Dupuis)

I think he has the speed to keep up with Crosby and that's important. I mean TK has that kind of speed too, but I feel Dupuis' game compliments Crosby more than TK.

I like the looks of the lines, we'll see tomorrow how they play together.

I would like them better if Sid and Staal switched lines.

I actually like those lines quite a bit. Even with Talbot missing they look good.

No kidding. Personally, I'd like to try the lines from game 1, with a few little tweeks...

Cooke-Malkin-Sykora
Dupuis-Staal-Kennedy
Biz-Ziggy-Godard

I wish Thomas was still up with the big club, I'd throw him out there on the 4th line instead of Biz Nasty.

No worse than Dupuis or Kennedy(for whatever reason people think he belongs there).

I don't understand why Satan was picked up...he isn't a third liner.

Though Staal has played better as of late, Zigomanis has outplayed him.

I'd prefer Satan in Dupuis' place, but we'll see. Just some shots would be nice, so I'm not picky right now.

Current consensus states that it's so he can learn how to become more defensively responsible.

I like that MT is giving Cooke a shot on malkin's line. I like that second line a lot, as long as Cookie does his job and does the dirty work along the boards for Syko and Geno in the offensive zone.

Here's the question though, what happens once Talbot returns? Or, to phrase it a bit better, who is in their spot only for a temporary basis? Maybe Cookie is a temp. because Staal will move back up to Geno's wing once Talbot returns. Maybe Zigomanis will be a scratch and Talbot will be once again resigned to 4th line duties. Maybe Talbot gets a shot at being a top-six winger. Regardless, more line shake ups are on the horizon.

I was thinking the same thing. Why did we sign Satan? They gave him what, 3 games, to develop some kind of chemistry with Crosby?

I don't think anyone understands that. Though it worked out in the long run when they did the same thing with Sykora last year, so lets see what happens with it.

If he scores goals like sykora did he will be back on a top line in very short time. We all know the lines can and will change.

Where else would we put him? We have very few people who have both the hands and speed to play with Sid.

Whoever thinks that is an idiot frankly. You don't sign a 34 year old scoring wing to teach him defense. You sign him to finish Crosby's passes.

When did Dupius get hands? Watch closely... he'll rarely complete a pass and, more sad, he'll rarely RECEIVE a pass cleanly.

Another element could be chemistry. When you think about it, he's been playing with Sid since the Hossa trade last season.
