Power play thoughts

Postby KennyTheKangaroo on Thu Nov 06, 2008 2:36 pm

During the preseason there was much debate on how the Power play would fare sans Gonchar, Whitney, Malone, etc. there was some conjecture that it would start out slow but the talent would eventually figure it out. Currently, the power play is 7th in the league with a 20.8% conversion rate. Things are looking pretty good for the power play, and it can only get better with the return of our beloved defensemen.

The fact that most of the time either Sid or Geno is carrying the puck up - not dumping - and gaining the zone 10 quadrillion percent more than last year (or when they don't carry) is a giant contributing factor. More attack zone time with that bunch = yum.

Satan is quite adept at finding openings during the power play to score easy goals. I think I read that he has 4 PP goals already in this young season.

It looked really good last game. Not sure what the difference was.
