DO NOT DOUBT THE JUJU!

(btw, that doesn't mean I'm not here yelling at my tv! But the gdt has traditionally been for channeling positive energy. As superstitious hockey fans, we've stuck to that.)

This.

A win is a win. The Oilers have some good, young talent. A few bad bounces and they were let back in the game. The Pens were tough enough to stick it out.

I'm glad we won and all, but that was ugly.

It needs to stop.. and quick, I mean.. seriously. Frustration from the last 5 minutes of the 2nd...till the end of the game.

We survive. Even in the last 1.2 they almost score.

We can't go on like this. 5-0 leads should be money in the bank. We're supposed to be a trapping team? Trapping teams don't blow 5 goal leads, or come close to blowing them. And if we're going to play run and gun and try to pad the lead, well fine, but then we'd better score more. There's no excuse for this meltdown. It's a win, but it feels like a loss. How can Fleury be so good for 35 min and so awful for the last 25? But the whole team was awful. They couldn't clear their own end to save their lives. Even the coaching staff had a letdown - leaving one unit out for the whole 2 min of the 5-3 led to the breakaway by the guy coming out of the box.

Ok good things happened and the pens scored 5 goals and managed to barely hold on for the win but still awin but can someone please tell me why it is that:

when the pens are leading and they get down to about 5 minutes left in a game they all go color blind and can't clear the puck over the blue line. It never seems to fail they just bang it right to the opponents stick or till it just tickles the line then comes back in the zone and they are trying to win yet not trying to win. Oh it gets so frustrating that not one seems to know what BLUE looks like.

so true. its easy to say "we won thats all that matters". but you only have so much luck til it runs out. you gotta play 60 minutes start to finish.

Bad bounces, Young defensemen.

Its still early enough to work it all out. Relax. The game was won by the penguins.

I think this is the whiniest win I've ever seen on here. I guess it's understandable but hey, we're another game closer to having Gonch and Whitney back.

That's because it doesn't feel like a win giving up the last 4 straight.

Up 5-0, you just need to play a solid 58 minutes. You can pack it in the last 2 and get away with it.

But I would understand maybe 2 goals when you are up 5-0, but not 4. It is getting a little silly.

After the years of enduring crappy Pens teams, yet remaining loyal and supportive throughout, some of you ingrates amaze me.

It's called expectations. Once someone proves themselves capable of doing something good, you no longer want to see mediocrity. Sure, the Pens sucked for a few years. Last year they went to the Finals and are judged through that prism.

A win is a win. And its always a little tough playing your first home game after a long road trip.

Still, giving up these leads is really getting stupid. Can't be doing that once we get further into the season. And oh yeah, the Gill / Scuderi combo sucks.

Phew We got the win but barely. Fleury gave up a couple softies. Edmonton came out determined and caught a few breaks with the goals and the posts saving them and that happens. Unfortunately this team does not know how to buckle down to preserve a lead.

Onwards to NY and they better not take them lightly. The isles always give us a battle.

Pretty much this.

As fans we expect more, and should with this team compared to the AHL level squad that was iced in 03-04 etc.

Might want to fill some people in that this is NOT THE SAME TEAM that went to the finals.

Of course there are expectations. There are also adjustment periods. Some don't seem to realize that. Hockey teams can not be judged on a game by game basis, ie; they do good one game: "they're taking home the cup, baby!", then they have a/some bad games: "this team's not even gonna make the playoffs!".

You know this stuff, just like I know what you're saying.
