i dont know it seems lately that the players have had some fire in their step. their problem seems to be backing off too early in the game

I agree Ruutu would go all out, but I don't think he does that every game. I remember there were a lot of games, especially in the first half of the season, where I don't remember Ruutu doing much at all. I think the all the Pens lines have been flat this season but are starting to pick it up. I'm not too worried though because it's exactly the same as I remember them the first 20 games the last 2 seasons. I think when the line become a little more established, and the games become a little more important (ie. From Jan/Feb till the end of the season) we'll see more urgency out of all the players... at least I hope so :)

I lost EVERYTHING that had to do with Ruutu after his performance vs the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup. It was beyond terrible.

I think that Cooke plays all out til the last minute - he really sparked the Pens near the end of the Oilers game with some big hits and a fight. Stupid rookie picked a BAD time to fight.

Then they got the shorty. Grrrrrr.

At this point last year, most people wanted Ruutu in the press box, and they were correct for the most part. At this point last year, the team had basically a month of putrid hockey left to play.
