It is fundamentals boys and girls. When they go up by multiple goals that came relatively easily, they stop doing what got them those goals, like make good tape to tape passes, winning lose pucks, wanting to score. Once they go up by 2 or 3, they sit back and go through the motions, their plays get sloppier and the other team takes what they are given. You could just see it happening tonight, as soon as the first flyer goal went in I and everyone else in that building knew the lead would slip away just by the way the team was playing leading up to that goal.

Good to get the pts, Great to beat the flyers, but THIS HAS TO STOP!

They have killer instinct in the first two periods and then completely lose it in the 3rd.

This has happened in several games this year.

but they didn't lose it in the third, it was in the 2nd tonight. honestly, this stuff happened last year too. not saying its ok, but at least the pens got two points and two of their top dmen are out. if this crap is happening in february, march, april, then ya, worry about it. not now though

With Whitney out, I think you can only blame him for two of those five. According to the Second Law of LGP.com Blame Attachment, if it's not Whitney's fault it must be Fleury's.

This blown lead wasn't as bad as some of the others. I mean two shorty's when does that happen? The other two were deflected and one was a lobed into the net. Thats just bad luck, the others were because we stoppped working.

Really, the only thing that matters is that this doesn't happen in the playoffs. That's it. If we make the playoffs :o

. That's what Roberts was trying to instill in the team last year and why he was so pi$$ed when he was benched in game 1 for BGL.
.

I remember Robert's first shift of game 2, he game out bang everyone. The team looked 10 times better with him in that line up. I wonder if the whole series would have been different if he was in the starting lineup for game 1.

I don't think the team lacks any killer instinct. I just think that it is early in the year, they will buckle down...

The pens aren't the only team blowing leads this year. A lot of come back wins year to date in the league...
