I'm sure he has some trade value, but compared to where it could be, it's got to be low right now, relatively speaking. Trading anyone, let alone a high-potential guy on a reasonable contract, when their value is low doesn't strike me as something Shero would be considering.
All good points, but perhaps the player coming back is also a high-potential guy on a reasonable contract who is currently struggling or recovering from an injury. We crack about the Senators, but Alfreddson could come cheaper than expected.
Tampa Bay could start shedding players because of the twitchy ownership. They may not shed salary, but they move someone like St. Louis to fix other portions of their team. Defense and goalie would be a start.
Toronto has nothing. What about Jason Blake? St. Louis hasn't made any progress. Brad Boyes? Edmonton and Dustin Penner? Colorado and Milan Hejduk?
All raise eyebrows, but no one hear expected Hossa either.
tampa supposedly has GARY ROBERTS and radim vrbata on the block. vrbata is puke and hasn't scored all season if i recall correctly. what a goofball team. they bring in all these players and then get rid of all of them a minute later. and coaches. but who can blame them?

I also think Dallas could get more than Sydor easily, regardless of Boucher's injury woes and declining play. He's still a better dman than Sydor at this point.

Boucher hasn't been able to shoot the puck since he hurt his shoulder, and according to the Dallas boards he's timid physically and is a shadow of his former self. They've been wanting him gone for a while now, preferably for a draft choice. Sound familiar?
Whatever. Low risk, high reward, I guess.

I just read that you said the same thing lol This trade had to happen during/after the game.
Shero probably finalized it after Eaton mishandled the puck at the point tonight.
I can't believe this. Am i missing something or did Shero just steal a Star? Maybe its one of those stars that have been been burnt out for years, but the light is just touching us now. Hopefully this isnt the case with Boucher here in Pittsburgh.
Unless he has bad feelings about his end in Dallas too.Kovy27 wrote:This trade is pending Sydor waiving his NTC....
which I can't believe he would want to sit in Pittsburgh anymore after asking to be traded.
If not already posted. Sorry if it was.
