Postby npv708 on Tue Nov 18, 2008 1:43 pm

From PSI

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled goaltender John Curry from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Curry posted a 3-4-0 record in eight games this season Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He has recorded a save percentage of .897 and a 3.36 goals-against average at the time of his recall.

He probably won't see any time as backup, just play a game or two behind Sabu while Fleury gets over his little injury.

Don't remember who said that during the preseason but it cracked me up.

Sabou is set on being a starter next year, and he may well be skilled enough; however, after losing the top job to Conks last season because he couldn't handle the heat (yes, Conklin was on an unbelievable hot streak but he only got the chance in net because Sabourin didn't look too hot) so now's his chance to prove he wasn't just a victim of circumstance and that he can be the man. Assuming Fleury is out for more than 2 or 3 games. This could dictate where he plays next year.

Yeah, Sabourin doesn't have the talent to be a full-time starter in this league...in my opinion, obviously...

Stopping all massive 21 shots. Anybody playing for Detroit can get a shutout
. Unless that somebody is Chris Osgood, of course.

They showed Curry on the Jumbotron tonight before the game, I REALLY thought it was a joke. It looked like a 12 year old.

Pens recall Curry......

.... after they got a busy signal the first time.

.... was not a spice girl.

.... was what Crosby had before the Minny game. Note: Don't eat Curry again.

.... was the favorite dish of BGL, and hence why he is not longer a Pen. His teamates could not enter the bathroom after he used it.

you know curry isn't necessarily spicy hot and just means "sauce" in Indian? Though it always does have spices in it.

In all fairness we said the same things about Conks and he'll be the starter in Detroit soon enough.
