25 points through 18 games. At that pace, the Pens will have 113 points. Yeah, fire Therrien.

OMGZ YES. Didn't you know that it was talent alone that won those games? Besides, everyone knows Therrien can't take us to the cup.

That's not enough!!

Seriously though, I wouldnt mind firing Yeo. The Wild have a better Power Play and look at the players they have on it. Coaching is a big part of special teams.

Record now 8-0-1 btw.

He needs to put Geno in the top 3, I don't care that people say he's not a good shoot out guy. I'd rather lose with Geno shooting than Gogo.

I'm really, hoping that we go back to our 91-92 Cup winning uniforms when we get to the new arena. The blue would be ok as the 3rd then as it is now.

Wow, every defenseman played 20+ min (Gogo with 19:54, close enough)

Minnesota is really boring. It took the Pens to score their goal for them to even get on the board. Take the point... they have been one of the better teams in the league standings-wise. Their PK was the difference tonight, and Backstrom. He's a good goalie.

0 for 4. It may be time to rethink the shootout participants. Sid and Geno are both extremely skilled but they're awful in the shootout 9 for 31 and 4 for 19 respectively.

IMO it should go:
1. Sykora (the most consistent performer we've had other than EC 10 for 23 for his career)
2. Letang (not producing yet but his hands and deking ability is too good to bench and he's 5 for 11 for his career)
3. Satan (he gives the Pens they're best chance in the final spot, 13 of 31 for his career)

The problem is, do they only keep throwing Malkin & Crosby out there for the shootout because of who they are and the fans want to see this at the end of the game? Would some diehard crosby & malkin fans who even watch on TV think they should have used them even if the Pens went with Sykora, Letang & Satan as the first 3 instead? maybe it's what Bettman and the NHL wants for every Pens Shootout. Imagine there were shootouts in Mario & Wayne's prime? Would those guys sit for someone else whether or not they were doing well?
It can be a tough one for the coach for sure.

I'm going to step away from the majority and say...I actually like Minnesota.

Hear me out...they have a boring, defensive style. But they are faster and more aggressive than other trap teams. Their forwards are fast and highly skilled. Look at Miettinen, Koivu, and Bouchard. Their powerplay is also very entertaining with a lot of movement and a ton of shots.

They're successful without Gaborik and they are without a doubt one of the best franchises in the U.S. as far as fan support goes. I thought tonight's game was fun to watch, even though the Pens only got 1 point.

So it came down to a fluke goal on a faceoff win? Lame.

I wasn't sure where to post this but, FWIW, Backstrom gave away the secret to break through his net.

In the post game interview he said something to the effect of: it's all about seeing the puck, if I can see the puck I can stop it.

So, it sounds like the key to scoring on him is to make sure there's traffic and/or a good screen.

One of the funniest moments last night was seeing Evgeni with an awesome steal of the puck from his teammate~ Letang...Goligoski? It was late in the 3rd period.
Have to pick your highlights where you can. Also had the cotten candy guy walk right behind me.

I'd say that's good advice no matter who the opposing goaltender is. 8-)

Well, naturally!

But if you watched his post game interview, he was very specific about this being the reason why he was able to stone our shots.
