Now I'm just making this up and it's ALL speculation but what if we traded Armstrong, Christensen, Esposito and a 1st for Marian Hossa and that Dupwee guy on Atlanta? Word is Hossa isn't happy in Atlanta and won't re-sign. He's an UFA. I'm sure we could fit him in the cap somewhere. What do you guys think?

No way. NYR, PHI, LA. Somewhere with more $$$$. He's going to get $9MM+. We can't swing that.

My money is on Montreal to get Hossa. They are my biggest worry come play-off time.

Well, what if we let Malone walk? I know this is kind of out there, but say we let him go and some idiot club signed him for like $7 mil over a few years? Or something ridiculous like that?

Are you crazy. He is a better enforcer then Laraque.

I'd wait until intermission. With the condition of the ice it will take them a few hours to prepare it.

Malone's not going anywhere. We need all the grit we can have. Roberts and Ruutu are def. getting resigned too. probably 5 years contracts...WWGRD could play for another ten years. easy. BGL is coming back too. he loves it here.

I know, I know. But what if he asks for like $5 million after racking up points with Gino, and people think he's really good? Shouldn't we let him go at that point. I bet Shero throws a $7.5 mil offer at him.

I heard to that Laraque, Ruutu and Malone will all take home town discounts to stay. We can trade Orpik or let him walk after the season, he is easily replaceable and some one will overpay for his "i'll get myself out of position and try make a big" hit.

And how can we expect Malone to live on $4 million? That's just insane to ask a 3 person family to attempt to get by on ONLY $4 million.

Money isn't everything to Malone. He wants to play on a winner.

The Pens will be able to keep Malone because Orpik can't stand Therrien. Orpik leaves and that's more money for Malone.

I think that's very true. He's said time and time again he just wants a chance to win a cup. Obviously this team might even go to the Playoffs this year, let alone the 2nd round! He'd never take more money to play on a non-contender, like Tampa.

I bet Therrien is gone after the play-offs. Shero will find some reason to get rid of him after we don't make it out the second round. This could be in the long run a good thing, so we can keep the core together.

bite your tongue. Tampa is going to be unreal next year. If it stays this way they'll get the number 1 pick and he'll play with vinny and st louis. probably get like 40 mins a game in icetime and have 100 points easily. I think they will get a new coach who is awesome too.

Tampa has a long way to go. There's no way they're going to pull a Flyers-esque rebuild by signing and trading for every available player.

I agree. This is exactly why I come to LGP. We can predict stuff before it even happens! We should be in charge of the Pens organization.

If the UNTHINKABLE did happen and Malone went to Tampa, I bet you're right. He'd challenge Crosby and Malkin for the Art Ross next year

I also really wish we had a huge defenseman, almost Chara-esqe, who could clear people out from in front of the net. do it RS.

We should try and trade Staal and a first for Richards or St Louis.

We need to sign Adam Hall to a 5 year $4 mil contract. Because he's the best faceoff man in the game, and we'll never find a cheap replacement that can win 80% of the draws he takes.
