Cammy is a great linemate for Sid. Cammy is fast like Sid and isn't afraid to fire the puck...

It wouldn't be cheap to get him though...

Tough to make big deals when the team is already a legit contender.

I am more for trading prospects/picks for UFA's to be (Guerin, Bertuzzi types) then trading a core player...

Calgary is nuts if they trade Cammy, but if he is really available, what would he cost us?
Salary cup is choking us a little bit,but if they would take Gill and Fedotenko for him, that would be steal of the year..
But as i said Calgary is nuts even considering to trade him, they just got him

You mean that's "LUCICris"! I agree.

I would LOVE to have Cammalleri on this team. He's a great scorer who led the Kings for the past 2 years. He's had a slow start in Calgary, but they had him buried on the 3rd line for a while I believe. He's a top 6 wing and now that they moved him there, he's scoring again. He'd be a great left wing for Crosby -- MUCH better than Dupuis OR Talbot.

Goligoski and a low pick might fetch Lucic.

Goligoski and a high pick would get laughed at by Boston.

If Goligoski were offered, no one would be laughing at the trade, even if it wasn't something they were at all interested in.

I know. I meant that I would target the lesser UFA's to be...Hossa is a UFA to be as well

There is ALWAYS room for improvement. why should the team NOT investigate a possible deal if it would improve the team? Adding Cammalleri (for example) is adding another 70 points or more to the roster and probably another 5-10 wins. So, why not?

I realize this. But you also have to think about what we have to give up to get a player like that. And on top of that, if the team is playing as well as it is, why is there a need to change up the dressing room? Keep the team the way it is, along with maybe some minor moves here and there. But I don't think there is a need to add anything that big to the team.

You look to improve because you want the best team you can have going into the playoffs and more importantly the finals. The team was rolling before the picked up Hossa and Dupuis last season.

Just by putting Cammalleri on the team does not automatically give the team 5-10 wins. You don't take into account that maybe Cammalleri's defense is terrible. Maybe him putting up the so called "70 points" won't help this team where it counts. Are we really hurting for offense?

For example: Fabian Brunnstrom. They brought him in for more Offense. He is doing okay for a rookie (in terms of goal scoring production), however he has no idea of a defensive game right now and might be hurtting the Stars more then he is helping. Actually, I'm pretty sure of that.

Sure lets trade Staal for Cammalleri so we can get 40 more points from him over Staal.... Lets watch our overall team defense drop, and our PK% drop. So really when you think by adding 70 points is going to get you 5-10 wins... you probably will have 5 more losses.

I don't think anyone here would trade staal for cammalleri...cept for a few staal haters.

He'd be great on this team but he would also be coming at a steep price.

Cammy is a UFA at seasons end. Staal will definitely not be involved in a package for him...

Pens can either do something big or little:

Big: Trade Staal and Goigoski for Kovalchuk (I am spitballing)

Small: Trade Fedotenko, pick for Aginogenov...

No rumors, just my thoughts...

It's obviously easier to do a smaller deal. Just hope that it is enough to get them over the top...Would a Kovalchuk put them over the top??

I highly doubt Buffalo would trade Afi for Tank+. Have you seen tank play this year? Unremarkable performance.

According to this report, Edmonton is looking for a roster shake-up within a week. Could this be an opportunity for Shero to grab his power forward type in Eric Cole? He has a $4 million cap hit, so Shero would have to send some the other way, but Cole's got the grit, speed and talent to be a successful winger on one of the Penguins' top two lines. It might be worth looking into, especially considering he's a UFA at season's end.
