Eaton playing better

Postby spi on Fri Dec 05, 2008 1:46 pm

Early this year I was very disappointed in Eaton's play. He was way too noticeable. For him, being noticed is not a good thing. But I will say that since Boucher went down and he got back in the lineup, I think he has been pretty solid. Especially in NY and Carolina.

What do you guys think? Is Eaton getting back to his old self?

Eaton has been playing better yes. I don't think that he was ever playing poorly. Cut the guy some slack, he has been out for a long time injuries. I will not complain about Eaton...Maybe about his 2 year deal once in a while, but that has nothing to do with him...

Agree, he was rusty. I think he's just about back to the way he was playing pre-injury.

Cut him some slack???? He was horrible early in the year. All I was saying with this thread is that he is playing better. and wanted some other perspectives. How did you turn that around to where I was complaining about him.

Man, I didn't say spi you should cut Eaton some slack...I said that he had a lot of injuries that past couple of years and needs time to get his game back, I wasn't even talking about your post...Very temperamental around here...

temperamental indeed. I thought you were rippin me for bashing him.

Sorry about that. I too have wondered about that contract of his but if he plays well from here on out he could be valuable as a pen or a trade asset.

He's been playing better. I still expect a holding or hooking call every time he's in the corner, though. I'll live.

I think us getting Boucher and starting him + Eaton being benched for a few games allowed him to get his game in perspective.

He was atrocious for a few games there.

I still see a "not so good Scuderi". He plays like Scuderi would if he were weakened by the Flu......or perhaps early stage Ebola.

I think that he's playing nicely.

Would he have made a difference in the playoffs last year?

Even better question: would we have Gill now if Eaton was healthy?
