Malkin and Crosby are the #'s 1 and 2 ranked centers in the league by a large margin.

No wingers in the top 30. No defensemen in the top 20.

Goligoski is ranked 4th for rookies.

Fleury is ranked 12th for goaltenders.

Also,

Casey Pierro-Zabotel is ranked 5th for the WHL.

Adam Berkhoel and Chris Minard are ranked 2 and 4 respectively in the AHL.

Sabourin is ranked 4th for "non-qualifiers" which I believe those who haven't played a mandatory amount of games.

How do they figure Ovechkin to be ahead of Crosby?

because these power rankings have no legitimate way of measuring a forwards defensive presence

They count Ovechkin's Air Guitar's during pre-game as extra credit. :P

Player rankings are more of a joke than Power rankings are anyways.

Pens are also number 3 in the power rankings for what it's worth. 1 ahead of Detroit.

Interesting ratings in KHL,among top 6 players, there are 5 goalies and our ex-winger Morozov, who is proving from year to year at home, that he could easily play at least 2nd line wing in NHL.. Man if he and Geno would play together,i bet Aleksey would be very close to 30 goal mark..

If we're willing to give the leading scorer from Finland a shot, why not from the KHL...plus i could actually buy a Morozov jersey now..yay..

DO IT RS.

We are willing to give the leading scorer from Finland a shot due to him siging a two way contract. No way Morozov does that or even comes here for less than 3 mil a year. Which is just to risky. Then again, a one year 3 mil contract would be better spent on him then the money we spend on Tank.

While I think the more open game being played in the NHL today would help Morozov, I sincerely doubt that we'd be willing to pay what he wants. Not to mention, he's not a long-term solution.
