Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll...

Postby purelebo84 on Sat Dec 06, 2008 2:52 pm

This guy has been tearing it up in the Q with Shawnigan. He has 52 points in 28 games for an awesome junior team, a team that he leads in scoring by six points. I know that the Pens invited him to rookie camp earlier in the year.

The Penguins didn't do anything else with him, did they? He's looking like a damn good prospect right about now.

Jesse?

We had him signed to a tryout deal and he was in rookie camp with the Penguins prospects.

He didn't do anything to overly impress, so they released him from it.

He currently doesn't have any NHL rights. They should call him back.

It'd be nice.

Not to take anything away from him, but he's also 20 years old playing in a league mostly populated by 17 and 18-year old kids. You see this quite a bit in junior hockey...a fringe NHL prospect goes back to juniors as an over-age player and dominates because he's two or sometimes three years older than most of the kids he's playing against.

I'm not sure what the rules are in the "Q", but I believe OHL teams are only allowed to carry two overage players on their roster.

I'm sure our scouts have their eyes on him. Kinda expanding on what Stoosh was saying, not to take anything away from him, but players in the Q tend to put up inflated numbers. Impressive nonetheless

Is it true that while his name is spelled Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll, it's actually pronounced "Throatwarbler Mangrove"?
