Absolutely a horendous decision to get rid of MT. One of the best coaches in the league and one of the best coaches in all sports. Only ignorance and jealousy would want us to not have MT lead our team.

Do I like all the decisions, no, but as a coach myself, you do not please people all the time when you make coaching decisions. Players, management and fans are never always satisfied. A difficult job that MT does extremely well.

I laugh, on many web sites people complain of lone shuffling. Coblers, if it is not working he does not wait to lose, he adjusts on the fly. Many of our wins are a result of this, his experience can tell if a line needs time to gel. He will not sit on the fence. Credit is due, we have a great coach!!!!!!

MT is a good coach. That's as far as I'm willing to go...He does have arguably the 2 best players in the league on his team

Don't think I'll ever know how good MT his.

He has so much talent below him, it's hard to tell if it's him behind the success (or failure) or the players.

Pens will NEVER win a Stanley Cup with MT their Head Coach. I really hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

If we still suck, then yes. It worked for Chicago getting rid of Savard and bringing in Quinnville. Who is availiable and qualified to coach the team. Eddie Johnston for the 3rd time? What about Melrose...Did he get a bad wrap in Tampa or is he just not in-tune with todays game.

I'll make a serious post about this team that I put in the Tampa GDT.

This team is built to win now, not in 2010 or 2011 or later. Some change has to be made. This team is too inconsistent. EVEN if Shero would make a move for a big time player what's that gonna change. The whole team philosophy has gone to crap. They are getting outworked by Tampa now. What do we got to lose anyways? we are playing like crap. Even if someone new is brought in and we play bad who cares? better trying something then sitting back and just waiting. We got nothing to lose by making a coaching change. The way this team is playing now anyways. We were very fortunate to even come away with a win against Buf last night. It's like the team gets a win and gets too comfortable the next game and get outworked.Rinse,repeat. Always repeat.

I think it's time. This team needs a shakeup. One player isn't going to do it.

While he has done better, he is over rated. This team is loaded with talent and underachieving. Injuries or not, they have the talent to be far better than they are right now. Like it or not, he is over rated!

We could use a real X's and O's guy I suppose. This team is beyond the "effort" state. Look how far Detroit got with Dave Lewis. You need that Elite level coach to take the next step, in my opinion. Sure Therrien could win the cup here, I personally feel though, that adding an elite level coach would improve the odds.

Doesn't a manager look to improve the odds at every opportunity?

Many a people said that about Bill Cowher and the Steelers as well.

I think if you throw out Game 1 and Game 2 from the SCF last year, we win that series. It's a shame we lost Game 6. We outplayed Detroit and they got a few lucky goals.

I think this team lacks the locker room/veteran leadership it had last year.

Last year, it was evident to see this team hustle and work hard. This year, outside of Malkin/Cooke/(Kennedy when healthy), it's not visible for everyone. Part of me wonders if these guys needed to watch a 42 year old man to give his all on the ice so they could be inspired to do so as well.

I heard the Refs gave the Super Bowl to the Steelers that year. Holmgrem said so.
