Choose your franchise player

Postby no name on Sat Dec 27, 2008 5:38 pm

If you could choose your franchise player and you had Crosby Malkin or Oval chicken. Who would you want. The marketable Crosby with his great leardership skills and work ethic. Or the All around Malkin who can light up a score board with goals and assists with ease. A player like Ovechkin who is electicfying goals and physical play can change the game in seconds.

It's kind of unfair to post this during a slump for Crosby, but I voted Malkin.

Wow, 1 vote only for Sid and that's me. When's the countdown to he's traded? and I would vote for AO over Malkin if I had the choice. I think AO got a better shot and just think is the better overall player.

Crosby. More of a leader than malkin, more of a team player than AO

Crosby. Being the face of the NHL would provide the team with more recognition, and allow for more exposure through advertisements. Not to mention his alleged skill at this game you call "hockey."

I think we did pretty well with Crosby as our "franahise player" before Geno showed up.

But I thought Kennedy was the heart and soul of this team.

While Malkin is playing lights-out hockey, I'm still going to go with Crosby at this point in time. He's in a slump, but he did captain this team to the finals, is currently tied for second with the Big O in scoring despite his struggles. I'm not ready to write him off at this point.

I picked Malkin bc of his talent. Easy to build a team around. He wouldn't be the super captain like Sid, but you can surround Geno with guys to cover the language barrier :D

Not saying Sid isn't great, but Geno wins by a nose hair.

AO is the complete player -- maybe shoots first before passing but that doesnt make him GREEDY. he is the shooter of his line. not to mention if anything, hes anti-greedy (if thats a word) since he plays a complete game ... he'll drop or finish his checks more than a Malkin or Crosby. and lets be real folks, i love sid, hes a pen, but if he was something else id hate him. he is a diver. end.

Seriously over the other 3? He may be up there, but not on the same level as the other 3. He doesn't do anything better, IMO.

i'm trying to think if the people making stupid statements in this thread are:

A) people who want to prove how cool and un-homer they are

or

B) people jumping of bridges.

...tough to tell sometimes

Malkin has the most raw talent in the world but crosby is so dynamic and smart. They are both fantastic

Oh, and AO is an absolute beast. So much talent and so much grit. I love the way he plays, even if he is taking runs at Geno.
