Everyone on this thread is probably absolutely right, this whole thing is probably nothing.

But factions can form in a locker room and it can sabotage a team, so don't act like it can't happen. We have no reason to believe that is happening here and I'm fairly certain that it's not happening, but even still I never like to hear about stuff like this.

Players CAN have career ending injuries too. Malkin is probably done.

No, there is no tension between Sid and Brooks.

Just about everyone on that team would run through a wall for their teammates.

sid is probably one of the most, if not the most, competitive athletes in any sport...have you ever played a sport with a highly-competitive team mate (or been that person) they let you know when you've done soemthing wrong...or how you could've done it better...that's all it was.

A little tension is not necessariy a bad thing....its a relatively young team who is going through a bit of a slump now....of course emotions are going to boil up. But these are competitive players whose obvious talent will win out at the end of the day. I'm not concerned in the least.

"All the talk"? I haven't heard anyone say that Crosby & Orpik don't get along. All this speculation because Crosby didn't think Orpik should've shot the puck once?

Yes, somehow that one incident is getting blown into this huge deal. I never said I agree with it, because I don't. I just found it amusing that Sid gave him another dirty look during the game yesterday. Not because I thought they were about to engage in a fistfight, but because I figured there would be more overreactions. I half expected there to be 2 or 3 new threads about it, but somehow no one noticed it.

Did anyone watch the Crosby DVD that came out before the season? In the extras they have a segment on him mic'ed up. He's not afraid to call his teammates out. Every indication is that his teammates love him and respect him and appreciate that he's just one of the guys. This is the kind of nonsense that makes you avoid internet discussion. People blow things out of proportion that are completely meaningless, everyday, normal things and then they take on a life of their own and suddenly Crosby's teammates hate him, he can't stand not being in the spotlight, etc. It really annoys me that a lot of Pens fans especially would rather look for ways to criticize Crosby than appreciate and enjoy the opportunity to watch a special player.

No one should be suprised there is some tension out there. The team is struggling and not playing at a level they are capable of right now. I think any tension seen the other night is suprising/amazing only in the fact that it is the first between any players. I think it speaks well of the team there is not anything beyond that.
