Gill will play Tuesday

Postby Daniel87 on Mon Dec 29, 2008 5:56 pm

Another player back from injury. Hopefully we can get Letang back soon as well.

maybe if Boucher sits, he'll have time to figure out how to smile and then take a better picture. Gill looks like he just woke up in his pictures but Boucher looks like he has bitter beer face.

A Gill-Whitney pairing, nickname = "twin towers" ...for too many reasons.

Boucher to the press box I would hope.

Next goes Goligoski, sadly.

No. Next goes Mark Eaton. As well as he has played and as much as I like him as a dman, Eaton is next to eat nachos in the pressbox. After Boucher that is. And I like Boucher...but everyone is right, he looks slow...it might be the lingering effects of the injury he had not too long ago. I don't know.

When Gill and Letang are healthy

Letang-Orpik
Whitney-Scuderi
Goligoski-Gill

Or some variation of that.

I think it makes more sense for Eaton to sit over Boucher in this instance.

Has Scuds been scratched this year at all?
He's something akin to the Penguins value deal (other than Geno).
They are quite lucky to have him at that salary.

I see where you're getting at, with offense over defense among defenseman. But lately Boucher hasn't even been effective offensively, which pretty much lowers his value to null for the team. Eaton at least has been playing decently as of late. And with Gill back, Eaton won't have to be put out of place by playing in front of the net trying to clear the crease, so he'll look even better. Scratch who's been the most ineffective, and that's been Boucher.

Yea, he can go toe-to-toe with Chara. ;) almost.

Any & all healthy bodies back are welcomed.
I read over the weekend that T Kennedy started skating with trainers.

Pens can finish this month and begin next year with an :!:

Eaton has truned his game around and has looked solid with Whitney. Boucher is the odd man out here. When Letang come sback that will be a tough call as to who sits.

Sit Boucher. Whitney gives us our offense, and Boucher looks like a fool, lately. Let Gill work his way back out of our hearts. Unless MT uses him correctly.

I was listening to NHL Live this morning... well watching it. They had Whitney on. He said Sarge is out taking a few shots here or there in practice and doing push ups, which is better than expected. He's still targeting end of February for a return.

While Eaton has been blocking a lot of shots recently, I think Gill offers a physical presence downlow on the PK that they've been missing. Eaton is built like my grandmother.

It will be interesting to see the difference in the team when Gonchar returns. I think they'll look remarkably upgraded.

Your grandma must be in pretty good health. I don't even think my grandma could skate nowadays.

I like it. I thought Gill and Letang always worked well together. I'd be glad if MT got back to having 1 OD and one DD on the same pairing. To me it makes no sense to have Gill and Scuds together because they aren't able to move the puck whatsoever. Splitting up the offensive and defensive D brings more balance.

Please let us be able to get Letang back without any more injuries. It will be refreshing to have our full compliment of defensemen minus Gonchar.

With Lucic,Thorton,Chara, Kessel, Wheeler and co. coming to town tomorrow, it'll be nice to have that big body back in the lineup. Our D will see a noticeable difference immediatley. I think Boucher sits. The B's are scary good right now.
