if they are out short-term, these are the lines I'd like to see for a couple games...
Staal - Crosby - Satan/Jeffrey
Jeffrey/Satan - Malkin - Sykora
Cooke - kennedy - Wallace
(WBS call up) - Talbot - Goddard
Staal is thinking too much at center and he looked good tonight with Crosby and Kennedy. Satan took his punishment and played better when he was with Malkin. Jeffery has earned a chance with his play since he came up. I'd love to see the energy that 3rd line could create. I dunno, just my two cents.

Boucher ain't going to sit. He played a stellar game. He and Eaton were the top pairing for Savard. Interestingly, Letang only played 14 minutes.

Substitute Taffe for Caputi and I'm sold.

One thing we will/should definitely get to see is...Staal getting a chance to play on the 1st line with 87.

The same staal that had "hands of stone" and "cant hit the ocean from a boat" staal?

We don't have any roster space right now... with Goligoski, Gill, and Wallace in the press box we've got a full roster... that means someone has to go, or at least be put on IR... The only players with a little bit of flexibility on this team are Wallace and Gogo... Otherwise it looks like someone is going to have to go on IR.

Yeah, the same "where were you guys against Detroit" Staal. He isn't as bad as he's playing, this could get him out of his funk.

I'm not perfectly sure about how the roster situation is, but I think if a guy's hurt, you can make an emergency call-up and go over the roster limit even if you don't place a guy on the IR. The caveat is that you have to send the call-up back down once the injured player is healthy.
Maybe this is an opportunity to bring Caputi up for the short-term. I think some NHL time is good for a prospect's development, as it is a reward for good work and also a bench mark for him to see where his progress is at. I have no desire to see Minard or Pesonen again.

I've been saying Staal-Crosby-Kennedy for awhile and I'm glad to see it finally show up.
Caputi's next in line for a call-up, and if Fedex and Dupuis are definitely out he might actually get a shot at some time with Sid and Geno.

I think its Letangs turn to sit and Gogo back in the lineup. he's not as sharp as he should be the break will do him good.
Jeffrey has been up long enough to get more playing time and see how good he can be.
I'd like to see Caputi, but I think Minard and or Taffe will get called up. Leave Peso where he's at.
Don't forget Wallace, I like his grit and style of play. Sitting a few games has made him very hungry.

It looks like the AHL all-star game coincides with the NHL so Taffe and/pr Minard could be called up and returned to play in the AHL game. I also think Gogo is juts being held up so he can play in the young stars game. No reason for him not to be playing someplace.
But my original lines with Caputi getting a chance to play some 4th line minutes still stands. He can come in with no expectations, just needs to get a taste for NHL action.

Im pretty sure you cant do emergency call up unless you are carrying the minimum roster. We have 3 healthy scratches, so there is no emergency.
