Kevin Allen chimes in on Stanley Cup Final

Postby schreibdog on Fri May 29, 2009 3:47 pm

USAToday.com Hockey Writer Kevin Allen previews the Pens/Wings matchup. A pretty even analysis from his standpoint...but picks Wings in 7 :scared:

Mr. Allen likens Crosby to the '90 and '94 version of Mark Messier...interesting.

So how is Dupuis a significant "not hot" if he's not even playing?

Some will pick Pens, some Wings... I have no problem with that.

But he is wrong about our defense being better last year. We are a much better team defensively this year, especially when it comes to overall team defense. We have had a few games these playoffs where we lost our head a bit, but in most games, it has been excellent. If he can't see that, then he probably hasn't watched all of our games.

Fortunately we'll have some concrete answers regarding how this series is gonna go by Monday. It won't be long now!

I found this odd as well. I guess our whole team that's actually dressed every night is "hot"? And he doesn't list any Red Wings in this category? Strange...

I think the misleading thing about the D could be that Fleury hasn't been AS good as he was last year up to this point. He's played great, but he was phenomenal last year. I'm hoping he finds that place again for the Finals.

I can't even imagine how frigid he would consider Godard, Zigomanis and Sykora.
