http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/jaakiekko/uu ... /08/926018I say "apparently" because I'm thinking this says he has been offered a contract by Ak Bars Kazan but I'm not sure I see anything that says he's signed it (I'm actually teaching myself Finnish - I have the Rosetta Stone of it and the whole deal

)...anyway, he's received, but not necessarily accepted, a one-year contract that has an option for a second year...
Any Finns, please correct me if I'm incorrect...

Problem is, he never scored a goal for the Penguins followed by raising the logo on his jersey, thereby indicating how much he cares, thereby inspiring fans to demand his return because of how much he cares.
On an unrelated note..."Ak Bars Kazan" sounds like magic words. Let's see what happens when you yell them while waving a magic wand at Pesonen.

Hyökkääjä Janne Pesonen on MTV3:n saamien tietojen mukaan tehnyt 1+1-vuotisen sopimuksen Venäjän KHL-liigassa pelaavan Ak Bars Kazanin kanssa.
Forward Janne Pesonen has - according to MTV3's sources - signed 1+1 year contract with Ak Bars Kazan from Russian KHL.

Do I sense a forthcoming "How I spent my summer vacation" essay?

Well if it's covering hockey, it would be consistent with the original MTV having nothing to do with music whatsoever

Well, that would be good news except that it's not a long enough contract to not hear all the ignorant rant and rave about what a talent he could be in the NHL if "just got a chance." One good thing: there are no escape clauses in a KHL contract so at least he's out of the picture for the short-term.

Can someone explain to me what is the big deal with his? Sure he put up good numbers in WBS, but what is with so many people giving him cult like status. I didn't see him light the world on fire when he was up in Pittsburgh (albeit limited time I know)

I don't think anyone that actually saw him playing with the real NHLers in camp is part of the Pesonen obsession. He seems like the kind of player that could dominate in the KHL though.

According to the PPG, the Pens and a dozen other NHL teams offered him 2 way deals but he wanted a 1 way which he never received.
