They gave up near 20 shots, had a goaltender struggling to find the puck, and too many defensive zone turnovers.

Are they in the game because Fleury made some saves, yes, but that was not a good period of hockey.

Sure was exciting, though! :D Fun to watch.

Did you guys see Melichar hit a Sen, and the Sen fell down!!!

 If I didnt know any better I would say that Melichar actually enjoyed that.

Dagny - Fun to watch because it is a tied game but if I'm a coach and that's how I view these things most of the time, I wouldn't be thrilled. If it's tied heading into the third period, I'll be very surprised.

Heck, I'd be surprised if we're down by less than two goals.

Pretty entertaining period. Scary to see how much better the Sens are, though. Ok, it's 1-1, but it's clear to see that they are the superior team. Spezza is doing pretty much what he wants.

Well, let's just win this one anyway.

They barely skate and appear very hesitant moving the puck and in transition.

I disagree about the effort and especially the skating. The passing could be better and that certainly lends to the flow but for this team that was a fine effort in every zone.

By the way there are only a few lines in the NHL that can sustain any forechecking against Chara and Crosbys is one of them. Look for that match up!!

That's what I count on you, and some others, for... you help me understand the technical side of the game. It's appreciated! :D

But, I still had fun watching that first... I think it's because Pens took NO penalties  Can you believe it???

Dagny - that's probably the big news of the first period. Pens didn't take one penalty but it could be said the Sens were so quick to the puck, our players didn't have an opportunity to commit a foul.

Lots of things could be said.

For me though... my biggest stomach churner during a game is when they don't even allow themselves a chance at an even strength game, due to no self discipline... AAAARRRGGGHHH :x Does that drive me nuts!

I've never played for real. The people that have, help me see things, and alert me what to look for, that I might not otherwise know.

Game back on... dagny off computer...

That was the first time I've heard anyone compliment how the Pens move the puck. I am dumbfounded that it came from Eeyore.

There's something you don't see everyday. Gonchar taking a penalty while the Pens are on a power play.

But he got back to mess up the guy with the puck. Horrible read by Whitney to drift over towards a guy out of the play who Jackman had covered.

This goal is on Whitney.
