I feel bad for Gonchar since this would certainly make him miss the Olympics since right around February would be a good time to return.
We can deal for now, won't be great but bringing in Skoula looks like a great move and he's a solid defenseman.

depending on the severity of the break he could be back in a month or maybe 6 weeks.

Didn't Malone break his wrist a few seasons ago? Think he was out maybe 6-8 weeks at most.

That's what sucks about the Versus broadcasters. Who's with me that, even if they didn't see it when it happened, that Errey and/or Steigy would've said something to the effect of "Gonchar's not down on the bench."

Completely missed that one. My little one had a basketball game and I DVR'ed the game, so I fast-forwarded through the between-period segments. I sat there wondering "where the hell's Gonchar?"

Obviously you do not want this to happen. But to be completely honest, I am relatively unconcerned, presuming he gets back no later than March/April.
EDIT:
And if he is out, the benefit for LGP is the resurgence of the FIRE MIKE YEO threads which will result from the PP performing like it did last year when Sarge was out.

There's never a good time for a long-term injury like this, but when the team's on fire and both Tanger and Gogo are both heavily involved in the offense like they are now, I could think of worse times.

Wow, I'm stunned by the lack of concern here. I love our team but losing Sergei Gonchar for a significant period of time would be a significant blow to our defense corps! I'm praying that this talk about a broken wrist is BS.
