I know some on here are critical of Rob Rossi's work at the Trib. But lately, he has his A-Ganme in the Chipped Ice blog. he's been providing behind-the-scenes tidbits about his interaction with players, which I find very interesting. Today's blog about Ryan Whitney is his best so far, IMO.
Check it out.

I concur. It's nice to see him update the blog every few days or so. He also had a good blog about his dealings with Sykora while he was a Penguin.

I read this and thought, well if I post this about Ryan Whitney folks will get tangled up in past history. Much better it comes from a guy, and a pillar, or former pillar, or reborn pillar of the community here.
To think Mr. Whits felt he had to hide his foot injury because of the new contract / fans reaction.
Again, all the best to him.

I'm glad to see he's started updating it again - I had given up on checking it. I'm not particularly a Rossi fan, but I've always thought he's had good stuff on his blog and don't understand why he'll stick with it for a while, only to abandon it for months.

It's always perplexed me too. Stick to it or don't, don't be a waffle. Also, could he have a bigger man crush on Ryan Whitney? If he sniffed Whit's jock any harder he'd suffocate.

Wow that article screams Mancrush/Gay tendencies. Most of what was said between them wasn't even funny. Then he seemed sad Whitney didn't return his texts for months. Im at a loss for words.

based on his writing at the time, i'm pretty sure rossi had never actually seen a hockey game when he was first hired...he's improved over the years.

I was gonna say Name Dropper...
Reminds me of Peter King from SI... The guy can't say a sentence without bragging who he just got off the phone with...

A little offtopic, but has anyone ponied up the cash to see the PG+ content for the Post-Gazette?

Hardly. Who wants to pay to read Molinari and Shelly?

He certainly runs a good ship over there. Interesting tidbit of info he had--Letestu was called up because Crosby was actually a gametime decision for the Columbus game. Sid might be hiding something minor... maybe if Geno was in he would've sat the night out.

Good point. I wish Bombulie had followed Disco Dan to Pittsburgh.
