Last time we played the Senators, a player was checked, fell into the boards, layed there for awhile then retired to the locker room. The explination was that, due to the supposed injury, a 5 minute major was awarded.

Last night a similar occurance happened, player hit into the boards, lays there, gets medical attention and is helped to the locker room. The call? Drop the puck, play on.

Its of interest to note that the team that only lost 12 times all year got the 5 minute power play. The team that only won 12 times all year gets nothing.

Seemed to me that Ouellet initiated the contact last night, and lost the battle. That didn't happen in the previous game with Schubert, although I think the boarding rule leaves way too much to interpretation, and focuses too much on the result of the check instead of the check itself.
