Offense

Postby Jamie on Wed Feb 08, 2006 10:35 pm

I think one of the things that makes our D look so bad is our lack of offense. Tonights game against the Bruins is a perfect example. Our offensive lines have been unable to maintain puck possession in the offensive zone. No pressure has been put on the Boston D. The opposite is true for the other side. Boston has basically set up a camp in our defensive zone. All the pressure has been put on our D. This is the case on most nights. I know our Defense is still terrible, but our offense is just as bad.

This team mostly consists of third and fourth line players. If you think about it, the only legitimate first line player we have is Crosby. Leclair is half the player he was, and Recchi is second-line material these days. That's it. This team desprately needs offense.

Even if your defense is poor, you can at least get by if you have a decent offense that you can count on to score you some goals and make up the difference. But we don't have that, we have a terrible defense and hardly any offense, which is why we are embarrassing to watch. All the stars we had on this team we traded for bums, and it is really showing now.

It's sad watching this terrible team suck the life out of Crosby. His first 20 games as a penguin, he was a different player than the one youve seen on the ice the last 4 games.
