I hope you meant
isn't.
And last night, it was Asham himself who called the move classless. So I don't fault any media member for their views.
Personally, I enjoyed everything but the theatrics. But I understand adrenaline. I'm glad Asham apologized.
Move on. Nothing to see here.

Wow. I didn't see this analogy actually made last night, but that is beyond asinine.
Of course, I'm assuming you meant isn't.

I did mean isn't,
i think the word I am going for is vilify or bad guy, Asham admitted his mistake, to me that makes him the bigger man then a lot of garage in them, media members are hounding on the fact that he did and not the fact that he apologized afterwards. Asham isn't a classless player, he is just a guy that got caught up in his emotions and admitted his wrong, just can't stand that the media is taking the wrong angle on it

yeah, i've defended asham, but comparing it to talbot's shhhh is weird. when he did that, the world collectively facepalmed him for being braggy after he got creamed. only after the fact was it a meaningful gesture.

To me, what was more hilarious than Beagle thinking he was tough and subsequently getting his *** beat was Ovechkin acting like he was tough from one penalty box to the next.
Speaking of Ovechkin, did anyone else see the one camera shot where he was standing by the bench and you could see the curve of his stick? Holy cow, that thing was curved like a banana! Has anyone ever challenged his curve in a game, or is that a tactic that has gone by the wayside?

If you're going to have fighting, this is what it should be. This served a purpose. I don't know that it's worth seeing someone knocked out and bleeding all over the ice, but at least it's not the staged crap.
I agree with this statement.

The only similarity I see is in interviews/promos. As for the actual fighting, uhm no not even close.

The Trib's Josh Yohe interviewed Asham today. Here are the highlights from "AA" via Yohe's twitter (
http://twitter.com/#!/JoshYohe_Trib):
- "Ovie is a hypocrite. The rivalry is back"
- "I don't know what Ovie's talking about. A guy who throws his stick down and warms his hands over it. He is being a hypocrite himself."
- "The thing is, I didn't go up and ask him to fight. I told him to settle down. He challenged me. He wanted to fight me."
- "It was classless. No class on my part. I take full responsibility for what I did. I just want to put this behind me."
- "I didn't know he was unconscious. I obviously want to win the fight but I don't want to hurt anyone."
- "I held him up at the end so he didn't smash his face up."
So there you have it...

Oh good, Yahoo...the site that doesn't even have a link to NHL on the main page sports section, but does have a link to Soccer, has a main article about Asham entitled "Disgusting act after hockey fight". Good stuff.

He was passionate about kicking ass and did something many many many many many people have done over the years. Personally I have no problem with the antics because taken in context of a adrenaline high at the time he was just stoked he won the fight. Just seems people are either too far removed from adrenaline sport moments or just never played to realize that adrenaline kinda takes over your mind and you don't think, just do. He apologized afterwards and proved that he is a gentleman. These reporters are just pitiful to take a small thing and blow it up.

I think it's rather ironic, though, that there's a guy bleeding on the ice and doesn't know where he is, and most are concerned with some dude making hand gestures afterward.
Sad state of the NHL, imo.
