Honestly? I'm going to have to agree. Letestu is playing himself out of the line-up when and if Malkin/Crosby/Jeffrey come back. Vitale and Park have been very good.

Martin has had a tough start to the year.. very underwhelming so far. Michalek hasnt been much better. Barely heard Staal mentioned. Too flat in the first.

Lots of work to be done. Even without the big guns I don't think we should lose to a team like the Jets. I know in hockey any team can win on any given night, but tonight wasnt a night where it was like the Pens dominated and the Jets stole a win.

Martin's been better than Michalek. Z has been probably our second-worst D-man so far behind only Lovejoy.

I think its time to split these two apart. Then put them back together near the end of the season. Both of these guys seem to get better as the season progresses IMO.

They stunk most of last year too. Michalek is a player I just don't get. He is not physical, he is a mess with the puck in our own end (he leads the league in icings) and he makes the occassional glaring mistake. Martin took a lot of heat last year, but I think Michalek is the most overpaid player on this team.

It's a shame when your "shut down" D-man is more likely to commit the huge gaffe than Engelland or Lovejoy.

Anybody with an Internet connection or a Loonie could peruse the CDN newspapers and know that Noel mandated desperation tonight. It was a lock that WPG would come out with their hair on fire tonight. Pens needed to be ready to match that intensity or at least absorb the inevitable body blows. They seemed caught off guard by the playoff intensity.

Just reading through now, he had surgery on a brain tumor during the summer. He was off for a couple of weeks. From what he said they got it out and he's fine. I never realized the incision was in front either. Yikes.

The whole problem is that the schedule is coinciding with no Malkin, Crosby, Orpik and now Kennedy.

If the team knows Sid and Geno are going to miss much more time, they seriously need to just call up the WBS top lines and put them in for the time being. The current lineup, especially without Kennedy, has the worst scoring touch of any team I've ever seen. It's a bunch of grinders that can't finish a play to save their lives.

You didn't hear? We aren't allowed to make any call ups this year, thats why we've been playing this brutal schedule with only 6 healthy D, and just enough skaters to field a team, INCLUDING Steve Mac. I heard Beej is going to play wing tomorrow.

Why would we beat them? And the same thing for defense....Add a playoff crowd and richard park as your top center (were all still happy staal is 100% defensive forward right?) and you've got yourself a pretty loseable team

Talented players does not a good team make. Jets are probably the worst team so far this season in terms of executing a system as a team, as has been blatantly illustrated every game they've played thus far.
