i've been patient with paul martin for over a year now. this guy sucks.

He clearly doesn't suck.

We had one of the top defenses in the league last year, and he was one of the main reasons why.

He doesn't rack up points like everyone thought he would when he came here, but he is sound in his own end, has a great first pass out of his own end, and doesn't make mistakes.

He's valuable.

Even with the goal Jordan Staal scored, He's just useless 70% of the time. His shot is weak, he throws blind passes constantly and his defense hasn't been good either. You'd think now would be a good time for him to shine but he just doesn't seem to care.

People that love him though will point to that one goal for the next 3 weeks as "evidence" that he's actually a really good 1st line Center.

I don't think anyone will try and claim he is a first line center. He is a 2nd line center. A very good one at that. He's Rod Brind a'mour...I'll take it.
