When playing the lightning you must score first... The 1-4 trap blows... It's not 1-3-1... It's ridiculous crap. And it can't be beat without a larger ice surface.

how can you say it cant be beat, they are a 500 team- score on the PP and expose them, there goalie is 55 and going for ARP

i have no evidence to back this up, but i think malkin is a -100, averaging .07 PPG on florida road trips. no one mails in games in the sunshine state like 71. though in the past, he usually bounces back after such a slop fest.

just sloppy all around really. though honestly...i thought we conclusively outplayed them through 2. just execution issues, and some deflating post shots

Everyone should do what Philly did, call them out on it and make them look bad. Do it a handful of times per game and get it all over ESPN, Twitter, etc....Get the spotlight/negative coverage on it as much as possible.

Well they have 5 ROW then if it means Regulation/OT wins. They beat LA and Vancouver too.

in shootouts....those don't count as ROW wins since they were won in the SO

I don't think the Lightning system beat us tonight though. Their Goalie OWNS us. Their PP scores almost at will against our PK. Our PP looks lost against them.

Their system has neutralized us 5-on-5 in the past but if we fixed the PK/PP, Rolo, situations first we would be in better position to beat them.

Pens passed up way too many shots. Should have been pushing 50+ this game. Stay out of the box and Tampa can't beat you. They do absolutely nothing 5 on 5.

He would certainly make a difference but our PP was bad last year with him too. And how would he help our PK against their PP? Just playing devil's advocate...

I don't think Bylsma or the Pens staff adjusts well to certain situations. (Montreal a few yrs back in playoffs, Tampa last year, PP over last few years, etc..)

Sullivan has been on a line that has been tearing it up this year. He has had something to do with it despite your hatred. He's a good player.

He's a better than average passer, who will not shoot, and therefor opens up no ice for his linemates.

i must say i agree with the idea that every skilled team should do what the flyers did. not because the trap can't be beat, but for the purpose of embarassing trap teams so that hopefully somewhere down the road hockey continues to develop into an offensive game.

I know the flyers lost that game, but if you watched it you would know the lightning would be a below .500 team if you forced them out of their shell.
