as far as the suspension goes, shanahan has no problem taking action on our players. even though other guys in the league would get nothing or a fine, i expect engelland to get at least a game

at the very least it's a charge against a guy pretty much already being checked.

He made contact with the head - if it's not the principle point of contact - it was close enough.. if they would just make it a black/white issue - it's an easy call to suspend him just as it should be, instead people will see what they want to see.

Personally I think his skate being taken out earlier in the game as he went into the boards was fairly dangerous as well, and I think he put this hit on in retaliation to that.

That replay versus showed over and over didn't show anything but Engellands back. You can't tell from that replay where the initial contact was made. You see the chicago's player head go back and assume it was hit first, but from that replay you can't actually see what was hit first. Why didn't they show the last replay just before they went back to live action in the game? I thought that was the best view.

Edzo's exit was acrimonious and him/Pierre bring it up every game they work together; Keith Jones is the color guy on Flyer broadcasts, and Emrick worked for the Flyers and Devils. The Engelland hit was not good but they're acting like it was Marty McSorley and never addressed the dirty shot Engelland took the shift before that.

That replay versus showed over and over didn't show anything but Engellands back. You can't tell from that replay where the initial contact was made. You see the chicago's player head go back and assume it was hit first, but from that replay you can't actually see what was hit first. Why didn't they show the last replay just before they went back to live action in the game? I thought that was the best view.

the 2 replays they showed right after it happened were better. i think they have ROOT sports interns doing the intermission production

i didn't like the trip on engelland right before his hit, but he didn't say a word (nor did anyone else) to the ref as he skated right by him when the whistle blew a few seconds later.if it was exceedingly dirty, someone will always chirp to the officials afterward

Well agree to disagree. I'm not going to sit here and say it wasn't a borderline hit, but I will debate that I have not seen a good enough view to say that he definitively left his feet before contact and that the head was the principal point of contact.

I am sure that either way, we'll get a video explanation from Shanahan, so it might add some clarity for both of us.

I think its obvious he left his feet. But I'm not so sure about the point of contact being the head, it looks to me more like shoulder/chest. It's a cheap shot since the guy is tied up by another player, but i'm not sure its any more dirty than taking someones skate out from under them as they go into the boards. Sadly, much like other injuries, Crosby has shown us how big of an affect that can have.
