I'll take this game any day of the week compared to the Senators game. Pens played about as well as they could all things considered. They just cannot buy a goal. There's really not much else to say. Pens had one very costly mistake.

Agreed. This is the best they've played in the last 6. I'm more upset about the lack of penalties by the Caps. They committed multiple penalties and no calls.

You know - the pens have played somewhat poorly in that they can't put the puck in the net.
But I have to say - not that I think it really makes a difference - the officiating has been rot gut awful.

I as at the Ranger - and in bad in the game, and in the faceoff circles... just linesman being dicks all over... I'd love to see numbers on that, but in general - the officials have missed even the easy ones.

First of all, you cannot tell me with a straight face that the team on the ice tonight resembled the one the last five games.

Second, I overreact when I think there's a reason to actually be worried. Maybe I'm too much of an optimist, but I started watching as many games as I could in the 02-03 season, and this is nowhere near that bad. Letang should be skating next week, neal is still playing, and malkin is still dominant.

Third, if Vokoun didn't play out of this world, you cannot expect me to believe the Penguins don't at least tie this game. The effort tonight was very different from the past five games. It was for 60 minutes, and consistent. Sometimes, the bounces don't go your way, and that's just how it is.

I don't mean to come across as hyper-aggressive against you personally, I'm just baffled at the debbie downer mentality on the board. Sometimes more shows on the ice than the scoreboard, and this is case in point of that.

What would you suggest he do? This is just going to be a write off a year with the injuries....You can't overcome losing the top player in the league, your top defenseman who is so crucial to your transition game, it's unreal....and now your top penalty killing forward is gone....ever since this new
arena opened, this team is cursed.
