25 minutes til I leave for the game. I am freaking stoked. Don't think they'll win, but I think it'll be damn entertaining.

I just played the game on Eastside Hockey Manager 2007. Flyers won 5-4.

While that might seem a downer my obvious scapegoat was Orpik who was -2, took bad penalties and was rated a 4 out 10. See, he's not around tonight to mess upp for the Pens irl :D

I wish I could go  But at least I get to watch it on Center Ice. I think its important for the penguins to win this game and get some early confidence. Last year we played well but couldnt get it done, and it seemed like the wind swept right out of their sails.

I just played and Forsberg got injured on the first shift. How's that for an omen?

My benching of Orpik late in the 2nd sparked a furious comeback attempt. Too much damage was already done though...

Take out his -2 since he shouldn't have played and we win, like we will tonight.

sounds good to me!!!

One thing that sucks

Postby Penspal on Thu Oct 05, 2006 7:23 pm

One thing that sucks about a game thread starting soooo long before the game is that when you do sit down to partake in some textual parley, you are faced with three freaking pages to read through to catch up.

I saw Malkin play in Moncton. Yeah, I know Moncton is a bad word, but he is amazing. And in a different style than what Crosby has. I can't wait for both of them to carry the team on their backs.

Orpik will be a loss. He would be the knockout punch on a team that is far grittier than any Pens team in recent history. I know that on many losses that they do take this year, the other team will not feel like they won with ease. Hard hitting, fast skating and unrefined skill is all that I allowed myself to see in the pre-season, so let's hope these same guys show up tonight.

Anyone else prefer to see Roy dressed tonight? I expected Oullette to be a scratch. I was surprised he even made the roster.

"It's a hockey night in Pittsburgh!"

I can still listen to the X online out here in Bensalem. Wonder how long until it will be blacked out.

I have the Flyers feed, they are gushing about how Hathcer has lost 15 pounds. They dumped the two old guys to bring Keith Jones in so now him and Jim Jackson may be the dumbest tandem in announcing ever.

The intro? It was a science documentary on penguins and other animals that live in Antarctica.

The Penguins are officially leading the league int he longest pre-game ceremony. They have the Rangers beat by 5 minutes. Pretty good for the worst team in the league.
