i'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing going into saturday's game
I think Saturday's game is ripe for a let down. The Pens will be coming off an emotional high with the big win against the Rangers in the return game, it's a Saturday afternoon game in NJ, plus they're probably going to start Thiessen. The Pens may not lose, but it's a pretty good set-up for them dropping one, which might not be a bad thing in the big picture. It may sound weird, but I don't want this winning streak getting too long this deep into the season. It seems like teams always get into some bad habits when they win that much and then need a little while to get re-focused. I'd hate for that to be happening right when they're supposed to be gearing up for the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, I want them to win as much as possible the rest of the way, and they pretty much need to if they're really going to catch the Rangers. I think Sunday's the real important game this weekend, as Philly is still right behind the Pens.

Rob Rossi: How much has Crosby's work ethic influenced you over the years?
Malkin: I'm (a) lucky guy because when I (came) to Pittsburgh, I was surprised how Sid, who was the best player, worked so hard. It is every day. I had never worked liked that. I watched what Sid (did), and now I (have) started to do it, too. I think my level is up, too, because of that work.

darkstar57 wrote:Not sure how it looked on tv, but in person I never felt like the rangers threatened us, they seem very much like a team coasting along until the playoffs come. If anything I have learned from the past few years, you have to be playing your best hockey going into the playoffs to win.

I initially thought I saw that and the replay didn't convince me otherwise.
He should have 2 A on the night, IMO.

Yeah, when they showed the replay it clearly looked like he got a stick on it, but nobody ever said anything about it. And usually Errey is all over that kind of stuff. Weird.

Instead opting to use him all over the place never giving him a chance to get settled in with linemates. Sid need to work on the point a little more, they didn't look insync, unserstandably so. I can see Sid becomming "the playmaker" again like he was when he first joined the league. But still a star in the league.
Don't know how long this comeback will last but i wish him the best and hope he can play the rest of his career in good health.
The Rangers didn't really threaten us once.

This is a stunning stat right here.
Rangers have a great coach, system, and goaltender, eh?
