2012 NHL Entry Draft Help???

Postby Honus on Mon Mar 19, 2012 4:29 pm

Hi all, I have joined this website hoping to find some info on the this years draft being held here in Pittsburgh. I'm currently a Sabres season ticket holder who lives in Canada and a closet Penguins fan.

I was hoping on attending the draft this year but can't seem to find out when tickets are available. If any season ticket holders post here and have any info that would be great.

I got tickets to the Pirates on Sat and Sun now just need to get the draft tickets.

Also any ideas on hotels in the area that are within walking distance of the arena and ballpark would be great, alot of them seem to be booked solid already.

Thanks in advance for your help.

We always stay at the Doubletree near the arena. We really like it. The Marriot is right across the street. The Holiday Inn Express on 10th St in South Side is really nice too as it's walking distance to the South Side bars and only about a 20 minute walk to the arena just over the bridge. If you want walking distance to both the arena and the ball park then The Courtyard on Liberty Ave (I think) is your best bet. Personally I like the Holiday Inn Express the best and you can just cab it over to the ball park.

No info on tickets, sorry.

Also, stop being a closet Pens fan. Come out like the rest of us :fist:

Last time the draft was in Pittsburgh I met some scraggly-haired kid that was drafted by the Bruins outside the Igloo.

The Pens drafted Robert Dome in 1997 (the last year they hosted the draft). :face:

I was at the draft in 97. My college interview was that morning so I was in a suit and tie. I put my pens jersey on over the shirt and tie and a bunch of kids asked for my autograph thinking I was just drafted.

There is bad news and good news about the 2012 NHL draft in Pittsburgh.

Info seems to be taking forever to come out on this one. I've been to the draft a few times in Buf, Ottawa and Columbus and I swear I've had tickets by now. Friday night is always full and Saturday is mostly family of players and some hardcore fans.

I figured season ticket holders would have been offered them by now.

OK it finally looks like some info is available, Pens season ticket holders can request tickets up until May 15th. There is a form to fill out on the Pens website.

If there are any season ticket holders here that are willing to order them (both days) I would be willing to compensate you for them.

Thanks
