The Penguins take on the Flyers in game 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs quarterfinals.
We seem to have stepped right off the cruise ship and into molten lava coming into the postseason this spring, drawing our biggest rival and one of the only other contenders in the east for the first round. after the jubilant dominance of the 1st period in game one, and the epic collapse that followed, many of the Pens faithful have been shaken in their belief of our place in this world.
Folks, we've been here before. If LGP were an HBO war documentary, our company would be in the 58th year of nonstop blood, mud, and tears. Time and again, the tides of battle have crashed upon us and sundered our fortitude. We've seen the coming and going of our brothers and sisters, whether they be friend or foelisted with each new summer of playoffs. We've been defeated in every way possible, and felt the agony of watching another team forget they even played the Penguins, as they're preoccupied with their next opponent, and we've had our backs to the wall, only to come storming back and shock the hockey world with historical victory.
Ride with one another now. Forget the tragedies of the past and the nostalgia of the legendary accomplishments we tie our expectations to. All that matters is here and now, one game at a time, to grab one more inch of the rope that pulls us closer to the Stanley Cup. As you climb higher, dont even look down. Keep your eyes to the front and focus on the goal. We know what it takes, we've been there before, lets get there again, Together.
