Get Staal signed before the draft and trade Geno and Martin(forced upon them) to Edmonton. Edmonton has the top pick, but needs a leader. They will see scoring title and Hart trophy and believe Geno is a leader and trade the pick and a solid prospect to have him on the ice. As much as I hate to see Geno go, it frees the most cap space allowing Staal to stay and signing some one else. This enables Despres to come up as a top 6 dman.
