He's also quite knowledgeable about how to cook a juicy Thanksgiving turkey, so he's really only an idiot 362 days out of the year.

If he celebrates both Canadian and American Thanksgiving it's down to 361

Shero's Notebook:

- Draft all defenseman
- If good defenseman not available, draft goalies
- If good defenseman or goaltender not available, draft a fighter.

Pierre may not be an idiot but, for a smart guy he says a lot of idiotic things.

That's a good point, but for most people who only celebrate one or the other, Pierre is no good to them on the other one.

Kings took the guy the Flyers invited to camp but couldn't sign last year...Tomas Hyka. Fitting that it was Los Angeles. I hope he becomes an NHLer. Kid from my backyard that looked like he would be a first round pick a couple years ago, Nick Ebert, still available, interesting...

Just philosophy wise, I'm not against doing homework on some overage players and picking them late. You get a "bonus" 12 months to look at him from a development standpoint. If he's a guy you had notes on from last draft (I hope!) and then compared it to where he's at now, and saw a good jump, it's a good pick.

He was a 40-goal scorer in the Q this past season for Shawinigan...hopefully he can pot 50 next season, his third year of junior. On a personal note, I hope we took note of Shawinigan defenseman Morgan Ellis (4th round - MTL) and inquired about him, I really like him, what a competitor...
