Michalek to have a hip surgery

Postby Tomas on Thu Apr 26, 2012 11:39 am

... expecting the birth of a baby exactly during the time WC will take place.

So far, the only Czech NHLers on the roster are Plekanec, Kindl, Frolik, Hemsky, Tlusty,Vincour. The rest either declined or failed the post-season medical exams.

Having many NHLers isn't necessarily a good thing in the WCs.

Zbynek is ready to join the team in Sweden. Before he does, he needs to see a hip specialist in Nashville on Thursday. If the surgery(?!) is not needed, he will come.

Perhaps his hip is why he stunk and was so soft....but I think he needs heart surgery to fix his problem.

A chronic hip ailment would certainly make it difficult to block shots.

Letang mentioned his hip and a possible operation when the team was cleaning out.

It didn't seem to keep Michalek from laying down like a dead fish everytime the puck got near the crease....

You know, they had a coach on madden attesting to this, that the entire laying down thing is something that the Pens want them to do. Laying in passing lanes, that sort of thing.

He came from minnesota/PHX where he was taught to NEVER leave his feet. These kinds of drastic ideals would lead to total confusion I would imagine.
